Compliance tier breakdown

Every material is classified into one of three published crystalline silica tiers, or carries no classification at all where no source we hold has established one. The unclassified count is reported here as its own figure, never folded into another tier or omitted.

Figure coverage is uneven across material types: this split shows where it is weakest. The registry does not currently include any natural stone materials, which is why that row totals zero rather than reflecting an absence of figures.

Figures present in our sources

9.7% of all materials in the registry have a crystalline silica percentage figure present in the sources we hold (as opposed to a tier assigned from a claim with no figure, or no classification at all): 194 of 1,997. This is a genuinely novel statistic: we are not aware of another source that publishes one. The per-brand breakdown below links to each brand's own material list, where the figures can be checked directly.

This table measures what our sources contain, not manufacturer transparency. Most of the registry's sources are manufacturer and distributor price lists, and price lists rarely state composition: safety data sheets are the usual place a manufacturer publishes crystalline silica content. A brand showing no figures here may well publish them in an SDS the registry has not yet ingested, and a low figure could equally mean the price list simply doesn't carry that data. Reduced-silica availability

63 materials are classified Zero-Silica. Combined with the 164 Low-Silica materials, 227 materials (11.4%) are classified Zero-Silica or Low-Silica. Classification rests on a published maximum where a manufacturer has stated one, and on a published manufacturer claim where it has not.

1,344 market-availability records have been confirmed by a source in the last 90 days (based on each row's own last-verified date, not merely when the row was last written to). This is a proxy for change activity, not a separate change-event log (the registry does not keep one), so it is not linked to a filtered view; no such filter exists on the search page.

Method and limits

Every figure above comes from manufacturer, distributor and brand-submitted sources compiled in the CountertopData registry, as described in our methodology. Absence of a published percentage or tier means non-disclosure by the sources we hold, not a claim that the material is zero or otherwise undisclosed in reality. This analysis reflects the registry's own current coverage, not the whole market: brands and materials not yet in the registry are not represented here at all.
