About CountertopData
What CountertopData is
CountertopData is an independent registry of stone worktop surface materials. It records what surfaces exist, what manufacturers publish about their crystalline silica content, what specifications they are made in, and which markets they are sold in. Every record names its source and the date that source was last checked.
It exists because that information is scattered across trade price lists, safety data sheets and manufacturer websites, published inconsistently, and available nowhere as structured, comparable data. Fabricators, showrooms, designers and specifiers need it. So, increasingly, do the software tools and AI systems they rely on.
What CountertopData is not
We are not a showroom, a retailer, a comparison website, a regulator, a certification body or an approval scheme. We do not sell surfaces. We do not test materials. We issue no certifications and grant no approvals, and no material anywhere in the registry is described as safe or approved by us.

Who runs it
CountertopData is operated by SAAS LOGIC LTD, a company registered in England and Wales (number 17184036), based in London. The same company builds StoneLogicPro, software used by stone fabrication businesses, and KitchenLogicPro. Neither has any privileged access to the registry: both use the same public API, on the same terms, as anyone else.
Editorial independence
CountertopData is not owned by, funded by or affiliated with any manufacturer, distributor or retailer of stone surfaces.
Manufacturers can pay to verify the records we hold for their materials. Verification determines who maintains a record and how current it is. It does not change a material's classification, its published silica figures, or its recorded availability, and it does not affect how or where a material appears in search results. Verified and unverified records are classified by exactly the same published rules.
Our operator, SAAS LOGIC LTD, also builds software for the stone and kitchen industries, including StoneLogicPro. That software uses the same public API, on the same terms, as any other user, with no privileged access to the registry and no influence over what it records.
If you believe a record is wrong, tell us. We will correct it and record the correction, whoever it concerns.
How it is funded
The registry is free to read and free to query. There is no paywall, no key required for the public API, and no advertising.
Manufacturers pay an annual fee to verify their listings, which covers maintaining the data with them directly rather than reconstructing it from published documents. That is the registry's revenue, and it is disclosed here because anyone relying on the data is entitled to know who pays for it.
How the data is built
Records come from manufacturer and distributor documents, from manufacturers' own websites for market availability only, and from brands directly. Classification follows published numeric thresholds applied identically to every brand. Where evidence is absent, records say so rather than guessing.

Corrections
We would rather be corrected than be wrong. If a record is inaccurate, out of date or missing,contact us with what you know and we will investigate, correct it, and record what changed and why.
